I am taking Chinese classes at FECC! I am going to tell you what I have learned so far and I will also tell you about some Chinese Culture. You are about to read a super interesting text. Before I was 8, I did not know how to read or write in Chinese. I only had to speak in Chinese to my Chinese speaking only grandparents, and also when I went to China. I started getting serious about learning Chinese when I was 8, I started taking Chinese classes at Chinese school during the summer. My two Chinese teachers were Ms. Lin and Ms. Sunshine. When I was 8, my parents told me I was 100% Chinese, so I wanted to learn right away Chinese I did not know much Chinese. I started talking to my parents in Chinese a lot so I can learn even more. I also wanted to learn Chinese because it would make my life better with two languages instead of one. I am going to an after school program called FECC (First Evangelical Community Church). I have had a lot of fun so far and I want to share my experience with you. I went to FECC during the summer and I realized that they had an after school program so I wanted to go. The person who picks me up is named Mr. Alex or Alex Rivera. My friend named Kate also goes to FECC and we go to the same school. Kate is only in second grade but I count on her because she has been going there longer than I have. I used to go to the YMCA but then my mom told me about FECC after school program and I wanted to go. Kate has been going to FECC since the beginning of the school year. Do you know about the regions of California?   There are 4 regions, the Coastal Region, the Mountain Region, the Central Valley Region, and the Desert Region. The Coastal Region is a low sandy plain and it is basically a beach. The Coastal Region is very long and covers the entire western side of California. Did you know that the Coastal Region extends 2034 KM (1264 miles)? That is very long! The region has many islands. The Northern Coastal Region has rocks, Mountains and Narrow shores while the southern coastal region has long beaches and low hills. Also Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego are the coastal cities of California. The Mountain Region is full of all different mountains. I am going to share three Kylie Jean series books with you: Kylie Jean Soccer Queen, Kylie Jean Dancing Queen, and Kylie Jean Cupcake Queen.   I am going to compare the books and find out the similarities and differences between the three books. I like the series of Kylie Jean. I like it because I like how something pops up in the story, but it is also very unexpected. In Kylie Jean Soccer Queen, the surprising thing is that Kylie Jean breaks her arm while playing soccer. In Kylie Jean Cupcake Queen, the surprising thing is that the Dog’s Palace is closing and at a random time Kylie Jean wants to have a yard sale. It is the week of 9/11 I am sad. The reason why I feel sad is because 18 years ago on 9/11, the twin towers in New York collapsed. If you don’t know what the twin towers are, they are tall towers that are almost identical. They are located in New York. The fact that they are different is because one tower has a antenna sticking up. The World Trade Center is the real name but the twin tower is the nickname of the World Trade Center. The brief story is that on 9/11 a few groups of people hijacked a few different planes, those people who hijacked the planes did not like America so they planned to hit 4 different important places. One hit the South twin tower, one hit the North twin tower, one hit the pentagon and one crashed into the floor but planned to hit the white house or the capitol of Pennsylvania.
