Story About the Collapse of Twin Towers

It is the week of 9/11 I am sad. The reason why I feel sad is because 18 years ago on 9/11, the twin towers in New York collapsed.

If you don’t know what the twin towers are, they are tall towers that are almost identical. They are located in New York. The fact that they are different is because one tower has a antenna sticking up. The World Trade Center is the real name but the twin tower is the nickname of the World Trade Center.

The brief story is that on 9/11 a few groups of people hijacked a few different planes, those people who hijacked the planes did not like America so they planned to hit 4 different important places. One hit the South twin tower, one hit the North twin tower, one hit the pentagon and one crashed into the floor but planned to hit the white house or the capitol of Pennsylvania. This caused a lot of distruction and killed many people.

 A video showed that 9/11 now marks the anniversary of one of the worst terrorist attacks on Americans in U.S. history. At 8:46 A.M., the hijackers crashed the first plane into the world trade center or the north twin tower, and at 9:03 A.M., another plane crashed into the south tower. All passengers on both planes were killed, along with more than 2,600 people in the towers and surrounding that area. At 9:37 A.M., another plane destroyed part of the pentagon, the U.S. military headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. By 10:03 A.M. A fourth flight crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania after the passengers fought the hijackers. Its target was believed to have been either the capitol of Pennsylvania or the White House.

The attack resulted in the deaths of nearly 3,000 people, over 6,000 others were injured, most were civilians. The north tower was the first tower to collapsed and fall down. The south tower collapsed only a few minutes after the north tower.

My opinion is that it is very sad that the towers fell. I think the hijackers made the worst decision to make the towers collaspe.

I wish that this did not happen because it is sad for so many people to loose their lives just because a group hijacked a few planes.
