Surprising Things about Taylor Swift

One of my favorite singers is the talented Taylor Swift. I like her because the songs she sings are all happy and nice songs.  Some of the songs she sang are ME! Welcome to New York, Shake it off, Blank Space, Bad Blood, Style, and so many more. Taylor has won many many awards and two of them are a Grammy award for best country music and a MTV Europe music award for best female. She is 29 years old and she started singing as a young girl and started writing songs at the age of 12. She was born on December 13, 1989 at exactly 5:17 AM! Did you know that her real name is Taylor Alison Swift? She was born in Reading, Pennsylvania. Her mother’s name is Andrea Finlay and her father’s name is Scott Kingsley Swift. She was named after James Taylor, a famous singer and performer in his own. Taylor’s favorite food is cheese cake. One cool fact is that the first ever song she wrote was called Lucky You. Her favorite holiday is Christmas and her favorite season are summer and wint...

Mother’s day 2019

On mother’s day 2019 my mom and I had a great time. It was filled with many cool activities. On the morning of mother’s day I gave her my presents. The presents were a card with 10 things I love about her and a little heart bowl that I glued shells in as an art and craft that I did in school. My sister had to bring her mother’s day gift home on Monday because she did not go to school on Friday. My sister gave my mom a fabric and towel dress and many cards. My mom said that she wanted my sister and I to not fight and we did do that. We went to my dad’s store in Riverside to help out because the store was busy that day. In the store I watched videos and did my blog. At the end of the day my family went to the Pam Am fiesta at Mayfair Park. I saw my BFF Ivy at the carnival and went on many rides with her. Some of the rides I rode were the slide, Zipper, bumper cars, the swings, the dragon, and the berry go round. Now I will tell you the history of mother’s day. Anna Marie Ja...

My Third Grade GATE Classes

Image
In 2 nd grade I qualified for GATE (Gifted And Talented Education) and now I take many fun and interesting classes that I go to with my classmates that also qualified. There are 6 kids in my class that also qualified for GATE and they are Jaden, Nicklios, Sofia, Ivy, Elijah, and me. So far this year I have taken four GATE classes in my school. I have taken Logic class, Art GATE, NASA, and Coding class. GATE class is on every Tuesday or Thursday after school. I am going to focus on Art GATE class for this journal. In the class I learned about artists and drew one of the pictures the artists drew. Some of the artists we learned were Leonardo Da Vinci, George Seurat, Vincent Van Gogh, and Jackson Pollack. The art projects were fun and exciting. For Leonardo Da Vinci, we drew Mona Lisa and designed our own background. For George Seurat, we did dot art painting, and I created a tree and flower. One of my favorite pictures we drew was sunflowers that Vincent Van Gogh drew. Last...

My School Project for Earth Day

Image
In April I had to turn in a project to my teacher and I made a beautiful castle. I worked hard to build it. This is all the steps and details you should know about my project. Like I said earlier the project I made was a beautiful castle but I did not tell you that I painted the front and back of my castle one of my favorite colors which is rainbow and painted the sides pink and purple stripes. I mostly made the castle but my mom helped me a little bit with some parts. I used many materials to construct my castle and these are some of the products I used toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, paint, cardboard box, shoe box, green foam board, 4 paper bags, and a paper box from a craft I did. As you may notice most of the materials I said were recyclable because my teacher said for our projects we had to use recycled materials to kind of celebrate Earth Day. It did not take me that long to build my castle but it was pretty complicated to make because I did not really plan to ma...

Las Vegas Trip for Spring Break

Image
I had a blast when I went to Las Vegas for my spring break. This is one of the best trip I ever been on and I want to tell you all about it. I went my mom and my sister. We stayed there for 3 and a half days. We stayed in Excalibur or Castle Hotel. I rate the hotel 4 stars because the food court and shops are expensive, but the price of the room is pretty good. We went to go see flamingos at another hotel as well. There were many flamingos and lots of birds and fat fish there. Our hotel includes a pool, hot tub, water slide, casino, arcade, buffet, food court and shops! My sister and I played some games at the arcade. We went there twice. The first time we got 441 tickets. We got 2 Emoji squeaky toys, tons of candies and a mermaid doll. The buffet at Excalibur was okay because the food was not warm and it tastes like the chefs don’t spend that much time preparing the foods. We went to the M&M store and got different variety of chocolate candies. We also took a picture wit...

Soaring on Ice

As some of you might know that I do ice skating. I have been doing it for about 3 years. Ice skating has been very fun for me.   In April 2019 I am in the level free skate 6 which is a pretty high and hard level. I go skating on Fridays and Saturdays. On Fridays I usually take an off-ice class with my private coach, a public class, and a private lesson with my coach. Sometimes on Friday I take a spin class. On Saturdays I take either a spin class or power stroking class, private lesson, and a public class.   On Saturday April 13 I took my first ice skating moves in the field test. I passed the test. I had to wear a black or dark colored skating dress with skin colored tights. The test was a little scary for me because I messed up on one of the skills, but I still passed. I was also relived that I got a nice judge instead of a strict judge even though only 1 judge was a little stricter. My amazing private coach, Coach Katie helped me a lot on the ice skating tes...

My Amazing Month of March at School

During the month of March I had an amazing time. I also got a special award that I will tell you about later in this post. In our class we continue doing workshop and have a must do list and a may do list. Usually our must do’s are   read for 30 minutes, write our spelling words in our planner, vocabulary flipbook, finish old work packets,   or reread 3 stories from our anthology textbook. A vocabulary flipbook is a flipbook with our vocabulary words on the front, and once you flip it says the meaning of the word. Our may do list are in a purple folder or we can choose to use a chrome book on Thursday. Our purple folder is a folder that we keep the work we can choose to do. In math classes, we are learning fraction using division and multiplication. We are in Module 5 in math. Sometimes we play a math game called Save by the Bell. Our teacher shows us a multiplication card, and we press the buzzer if we know the answer. If we get the answer correct, we get a point an...
