Foreign Policies During First 5 Presidents Presidency

The foreign policy which I feel was most important for America as a whole during the presidency of Jefferson was the Louisiana Purchase, and how it allowed American citizens to gain access to more resources. According to The University of Maryland, “...nearly doubled the land area of the nation…secured permanent access to the Mississippi river…obtained vast natural resources for the economy…” All of these benefits that came from this one foreign purchase nearly cancel out all the negatives that come from owning a vast amount of land. First, by buying Louisiana from France, we gained control over the entire Mississippi River, which has now become one of America’s main waterways and water sources. Also, most obviously with buying land, the land owned by the U.S. grew dramatically, and gave people more space to grow crops, create buildings, and create other things necessary for survival. Also with more space, this lets people have more freedom from one another, and not be forced into sm

School Cell Phone Ban Research

For another one of my weekly CNN 10 summaries, I heard about a cell phone ban in a school located in Minnesota. Though this is not my school, I was interested in the reasoning behind this choice for the school district, as mobile and cellular devices have become a huge part of schools and American citizen's everyday lives. The story this week which is most connected to a new technological policy is the story about the recent cell-phone ban in a private school located in Minnesota. According to CNN 10, the students have mixed emotions and feelings about this new rule. Some believe it is a good change which will further help students pay attention and benefit from their learning. However, others feel it is invasive to their own belongings, and are not happy with the rule. This ban all in all will have a positive impact on student’s learning and focus, which is the school district's main priority. Many students have already had their personal phones taken, as many students try and

2 Week Separation From My Mom

The past 2 weeks, my mom and sister took a trip to China, leaving me with my dad in the U.S. With many changes currently happening, my mom just wanted a break and wanted to see more of her family. With this, my dad and I had to learn and get used to life without my mom, who does much of the family's work and is my sister and I's main transportation. This is also the longest I have been separated from my mom, and we could only connect through online medias. My dad and I quickly adapted to our new environment, and created some rules during this time for us to follow. We also created lists of restaurants and foods we wanted to eat at together during this time, and just talked about how the next 2 weeks are going to go.

U.S. Tiktok Situation

Every week in my history class, we have daily warm-ups, where we watch the CNN 10 video of the day, and then write about a topic we found to be interesting. At the end of the week, we pick the story we feel is most related and interesting about a country's domestic/foreign policy. This week, one of the major stories was about the possible Tiktok ban from U.S. devices, and I chose to write about this domestic issue. The story of the week which is most related to a country’s domestic policy is the story about the Tiktok situation in the U.S., and the “stages” it is currently undergoing. According to CNN 10, the U.S. government has recently taken the Tiktok issue into huge hands, as they have been suspicious of Tiktok and China receiving too much personal information. This issue has been a huge argument in our country, even getting to the point of protests near the White House. If passed by the Cabinet, this bill will then become a law, and be required to be passed by Biden and the H

2024 Check In

It is already March! It is crazy how fast time flies, we were truly just in the New Year. So far, this year has been crazy, taking me through a rollercoaster of experiences, emotions, and changes. From school, to skating, to family and friends, there have been many changes in the past 2 months. I always like to think of New Years as a fresh start, and a time to let old things go. With that, of course, some situations and events still stay with me even with a New Year. Starting with my school and academics, I recently just completed my first semester of 8th grade, which is a huge relief for me, personally. In my school district, the district only looks at our grades and GPA's up to the first semester of 8th grade, meaning this next semester of my year will not count towards anything. However, of course, it is my goal to achieve and keep good grades. When my school year first started, I strived for all A+'s in all my classes, and I would like to continue that. Though it will be
