School Cell Phone Ban Research

For another one of my weekly CNN 10 summaries, I heard about a cell phone ban in a school located in Minnesota. Though this is not my school, I was interested in the reasoning behind this choice for the school district, as mobile and cellular devices have become a huge part of schools and American citizen's everyday lives.

The story this week which is most connected to a new technological policy is the story about the recent cell-phone ban in a private school located in Minnesota. According to CNN 10, the students have mixed emotions and feelings about this new rule. Some believe it is a good change which will further help students pay attention and benefit from their learning. However, others feel it is invasive to their own belongings, and are not happy with the rule. This ban all in all will have a positive impact on student’s learning and focus, which is the school district's main priority. Many students have already had their personal phones taken, as many students try and hide their device, and use it during class, rather than paying attention. However, with this new rule, this prohibits anyone from using it, and have a lower chance of being exposed to harmful, online media. All in all, this week, the story which is most connected and relevant to technology is the story about the cell-phone ban in a school.
