High School Research

Recently, I have done some research about high schools in/around my school district. My final decision will be made this coming winter, so I thought it would be a good idea to get a sense of the different schools I am able to go to, what they offer, and how the other students are there. These are just the five schools that I would most likely go to, and are also my personal preference. M. HS Pros Cons Closest HS to my middle school (relatively closer to home & mom work office) QUEST Program (Accelerated, good program to get into large colleges) High amount of AP classes  Over 97% of teachers have 3+ years of teaching experience Low rating on GreatSchools (6/10) Many students (3,400+) (25:1 ratio) Ranked 486 in state high schools State test scores below average S. List - My Top 10 Strengths and Weaknesses (As of July, 2023)

I recently decided to make a list of my strengths and weaknesses, to track my "progress" and see what I need to work on to become a better student and person. This is as of July 2023, and I am able to review this to see if anything has changed later on. This can also help to decide what majors and pathways would be best suited for my current strengths, and what to avoid when searching for my future life. Strengths (Not in order) Math Arguing/debating Drawing Writing (essays, stories, etc.) Typing  Self-control Ice skating Graphic designing Interior designing Setting/reaching goals Weaknesses (Not in order) Time management Public speaking Remembering terms/facts P.E.  Spilling secrets/talking too much Very fast mood changes Teamwork (I like to be the center of attention) Confidence Physical stamina Deadlines

My 2023 Summer Break So Far

It has already been around a month into summer! Summer this year has gone by so fast, I can't even keep track. I have already made many new memories and built onto and made new friends. Though not many large events have happened so far, I am pretty happy with how my summer is going, and hope the rest also turns out exciting, fun, and relaxing. This year, like all others, I attend MVP summer day camp. I have been going there since I was around the age of 6, and still enjoy it as much as I did back then. Also this summer, I have and look forward to hanging out with my school friends a lot more, now being in middle school and having so many more classmates to become friends with. It has only been around 3 weeks into camp so far, yet feels so short looking back. The weekly schedule for every week at camp is almost the exact same, with the exception of Wednesdays. Monday is just a chill and welcome to camp day, where we stay at Monte Verde park all day and just hang out there. Tuesdays

My 2023 4th of July

Recently, the Fourth of July has passed! It was a great time to celebrate America's birthday, spend some time with my family, eat good food, and of course, watch the amazing firework shows. This year, unlike the past few, our family did not "share" our 4th with anyone else. The past few years, we have done fireworks and dinner and everything with one of my friends, either Chloe or Ivy. This year however, we just decided celebrating alone would be best. This Fourth of July, it was the day that my mom, sister, and I came back from a short trip to Las Vegas. After eating some breakfast, we started the long car ride home. Along the way, we stopped by Barstow to have lunch (Panda Express) and looked around the the shops and stores. My sister and I also got ice cream, before continuing the rest of the drive home.

Friend Teen Drama

Recently, throughout the school year, I have been going through some friendship problems and troubles - all of which I expected, going into middle school and slowly starting to mature. I have had many minor issues where there was a small misunderstanding or argument, but me and the other ended up talking and figuring things out, becoming friends once again. However, there also have been a few situations in which it was not a misunderstanding, and our relationship was more affected.  The largest friend troubles I have experienced recently was with my "best friend." We have been really good friends for the past 3-4 years, and hung out almost everyday during the covid quarantine. We made so many memories together, had so many playdates, and trusted each other most. We spent the summer coming into 7th grade together at a camp, everything seemed normal then, we acted how we usually were around each other.
