My 2020 Christmas

Finally 2020’s Christmas passed. That means that the year of 2020 is finally almost over. Despite being quarantined, I had a very fun Christmas this year though. I never wanted that day to end but it’s sad we only get 24 hours to call it Christmas. On Christmas Eve, we had a very delicious dinner from stonefire grill. After our dinner, we went to bed a little early and put out cookies and milk for Santa clause. I also wrote a little letter to Santa and asked if next year I could go to the North pole with him. My sister and I hoped we were on the good list since we did fight a lot this year.  On Christmas day, I woke up at 6:50 and I was really excited. I went out and the first thing I saw was that Santa ate the cookies and drank the milk. I checked the note and it said “yes”!! I was really excited and I knew that’s what I wanted for Christmas next year. I checked under the Christmas tree and saw that there were many presents along with presents from Santa. Since I was the first one t

My ice skating holiday show

On 12-19-20, I had an ice skating holiday show. I finally went back to my old rink and saw some of my friends. 2 of my friends and I had a program we have been working on and performed it. It was really fun and still got to go even through quarantine.  My two friends Lokilani, Kaitlin, and I did a cute performance to the song “sparkle jolly twinkle jingly” and we were supposed to be elves. We have been practicing it at a different ice rink but were invited to join East West’s holiday show.  The choreography was supposed to be a simple and fun program for the holidays. In some and most of the parts, I was the lead because I picked up the choreography faster than my friends. We had 2 spins and 2 jumps in the program. We had a Waltz jump and a toe loop jump. We had a back scratch spin and a pancake to flamingo spin. My favorite part was at the end of our program we had a bow with our hands going in a loop de loop and it looked so cute. The costume was very cute and we looked just like l

Inspiring Monuments

For school again, I have been assigned an essay. We had to write on how monuments can inspire emotions. We had to write about the National World War II memorial and the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial. I decided to write 4 paragraphs about these 2 monuments.      As you walk into the National World War II memorial, you feel peaceful right away. You hear water splashing and leaves blowing in the wind. This inspiring monument was built to remember soldiers and workers who risked their lives for our freedom. Monuments can inspire emotions.        First, the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial is a monument that inspires visitors who come. The author states, there is a 30 foot sculpture of Dr. King that shows a determined expression on his face. This shows how determined he was for everyone to have equal rights. According to the text, the statue was carved from a stone called “The stone of hope” and “The Mountain of despair”. Some of Dr. King's most inspiring quotes are

How my first Trimester of school went

2020. Well it’s not what anyone wanted but it happened. Everyone has to now be in distance learning and do everything online. My first Trimester of school has ended and it was not what I expected. Our teacher taught us like there was no distance learning and we got to learn many new things. I have 3 main teachers that teach us the basic subjects but we also have 2 choirs’ teachers that teach us about music.   My main teachers are Mrs. Bomgaars (my homeroom and math teacher), Mrs. P (my language arts teacher), and Mrs. Palmer (my social studies and science teacher). My 2 choirs’ teachers are Mrs. Huntington, and Mr. Ron (I think). In my math class, we have been learning decimal addition, decimal subtraction, and 3 by 2 digit multiplication. Each week we have a quiz based of what we learned during the week so our teacher can see if we have been paying attention during our meets. In language arts, we have been learning the RACE strategy when writing. We learned the format of using
