Something About Oceans

Do you like going to the ocean and playing in it?  Please continue reading to learn facts about it. The temperature of the ocean water is 17 degrees Celsius and 62.2 degrees Fahrenheit. The 5 different types of oceans are Arctic ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, Indian ocean, and Southern Ocean. The biggest ocean is the Pacific Ocean then the Atlantic Ocean, then the Indian ocean, then the Southern Ocean, and last one is the Arctic Ocean. According to my research, oceans cover up 71 percent of the Earth’s surface. Some sunken boats were the Titanic that sunk in the Atlantic Ocean. The article said scientists believe that there are over one million species of animals and plants living in the ocean. Some animals are fish, sharks, dolphins, whales, turtles and a ton more. The plants that live in the ocean are phytoplankton, diatoms seagrasses, algae, and kelp. Most animals eat plankton and other things. In my opinion, my favorite is dolphins, because it can leap high in the

Facts About Native Americans

Today I learned many new facts about Native Americans. To learn all these facts I read a few articles and watched a few videos. I got the idea because my class and I had a writing test about them.  They lived 12,000 years ago in 1492. They lived in Alaska, Canada, North   Carolina, and a few more spots. Today there are over five million Native Americans in the U.S. They eat salmon, fish, potatoes, pine nuts, and acorn flour. Native American of the North West built houses called plank houses on beaches. Women wear skirts and leggings. Native Americans grew corns, maze, beans, and squash. They built homes out of branches and animal skin. They believe in cultivation and preservation of natural resources. I loved learning about Native Americans. If you know other facts about them, please let me know.

Icy Arctic Tundra

For this post I will share facts about the Arctic Tundra. Do you want to learn about the Arctic Tundra? This post will tell you cool facts about it. I got the idea because my class got to choose a biome and a partner. The biome I chose is the Arctic Tundra and Sofia as my partner. The temperature in the Tundra is 34 degrees Celsius.   These are some animals and facts about them. The arctic fox changes color from brown in the summer to white during the winter. The Arctic Hare has smaller ears and noses than other hares. The Arctic tern can fly over 19,000 km in a year and see more daylight hours than any other creatures. The Arctic wolf is the same specie as pet dogs. The bald eagle are often seen swooping down to snatch fish out of the water. Beluga whales are usually found in small groups of around 10 animals. My Good Months at School

For the past few months I had a great time at school. If you want to know what I did, then read my journal below. The students in my class are all my friends, and my best friends are Sofia, Katelynn H., Cheyne W., Savannah B., Genesis A., Ivy N., and Ella W. In math class, we learned about square centimeters, multiplication, division and word problems. For science, we chose a biome and a partner. My partner is Sofia and our biome is the Arctic Tundra. We also traded classes for one hour, and the teacher’s name is Ms. Palmer. We learned about animals, and talk about similar and different traits about the same type of animal.  For art projects, we made Thanksgiving cards and Veteran’s day banners with Savannah's grandma. We also made edible turkey with apples, goldfish, cereal, marshmallow, candies, corns and raisins with my teacher’s sister, Ms. Kumi. In November, we got a new student named Miles Winchester. We also got our report cards for the first trimester. I got a lot of
