"The Global Rise of Social Media and the Changed World" Reflective Paragraph

 Recently for a school assignment, we were sked to read an article about social media and how it affects our world. We were then asked to write a reflective paragraph on what we learned.

After reading the Newsela.com article, “The Global Rise of Social Media and the Changed World”,I have gained a better understanding of how social media has changed through the years.  According to the article, at one point in history, Facebook was the most popular social media website, and has the most visits. Nowadays, however, Tiktok, snapchat, and Youtube have taken over Facebook’s title. With out world constantly changing, we never know which site will become the next super popular one. However, as the people on their mobile device most are those of 18-24 age, we can expect the next popular site to be more for younger aged adults. This also goes for the current popular sites, as more younger people use them compared to elders (which is expected as their eyes have a higher chance of becoming damaged). All in all, after reading this article, I have a better understanding of how much social media has changed and how the ages of the people using the sites have a great impact on how popular a media becomes.
