Athena and Marcia Overstrand Creation of Paper (Fake) Myth
The Beginning of a Very Important Necessity - Paper !
One day, Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war, was taking a small stroll through her city, Athens, when she bumped into a lady. This lady wasn’t an average one like you’re annoying next door neighbor lady, she was dressed in all purple. Shirt? Purple. Pants? Purple. Shoes? Purple with a rough python texture. Cloak? Yes, purple. You get the jist. Athena and this purple obsessed lady began talking and became best friends at once. Her name turned out to be Marcia and she was the extra-ordinary wizard, protecting all wizards near her home, located in Lucky Springs. Both shared their wishes and beliefs and then Athena said something that caught Marica’s attention even more. Athena mentioned one of her greatest wishes was something that was light, flimsy, and could be written on. Marcia never heard of such a thing, but was determined to make her new friend’s wish come true. She tried every material she could find to make something similar to Athena’s description, but nothing worked. After months of trying, Marcia finally decided to try a tree branch.. She obviously didn’t have much hope since it was hard, rough, and the complete opposite of what Athena wanted. Losing hope, but still determined to help her friend, she took the branch and started to flatten in. After a long time, it was…perfect! It turned into a writable, ripable, and airy piece of…something. Marcia immediately took it to Athena and she loved it. She started making tons and tons of it, to the point where her whole room was filled with stacks of it. Athena decided a name was mandatory for this…thing. After a week or so of mixed emotions, she finally decided paper was an acceptable choice. She would prefer something more exciting or fun, but paper will do - after all, only her and Marcia know about it…so far.
