 Prompt : Why is honesty important in a friendship?

Honesty is extremely important in friendships, especially when it comes to long term and healthy friends. One reason honesty is key in friendships is because it helps build trust and care. After possible months of being honest to a friend, you start trusting each other more and more. The strong bond created between you two  will always be there - the only problem now is not breaking or ruining all the buildup that the pair of you had to go through. Another reason honesty is so important for friends is because it is a lot easier to solve problems and misunderstandings during a friendship. As friends are never perfect and many problems or misunderstandings will occur, being honest to one another can help limit all the disagreements and fights that happen as time goes on. Sometimes sharing your own honest opinion/thoughts may anger your friend, but what matters is that you told them how you actually feel They will be able to understand you and your feelings more which overall leads to a stronger friendship and connection. Most importantly, honesty is the base of any relationship, whether it’s bus buddies or extremely close friends. In order to have a good and deep conversation (which most friendships should have), it requires both of you to be honest about how you feel. In order to grow any relationship, it requires many deep and honest conversations, which is why honesty has such a huge role in not only conversations and small talks, but you’re whole friendship and how you think of one another.
