Harry Potter Book 1 Summary and Review Part 1

For the past few months, I have been caught up in the book series "Harry Potter." Since it took me FOREVER to finish book 1, I am still only on book 4. I still thought it would be good to summarize the other 3 books before I forget their story.  Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone or the Philosopher's Stone is the first book of the Harry Potter series and is written by the one and only J.K. Rowling.  The first few chapters were a little history of Harry's past life since Voldemort (Also known as you-know-how and he-who-must-not-be-named) tried killing Harry but ends up killing Harry's parents Lily and James Potter. Since Harry defeated at that time the most powerful dark wizard, his powers got "taken away" and Harry was left with nothing but a scar on his forehead shaped like a lightning bolt.  Harry then gets by Hagrid, the Hogwarts gamekeeper. He delivers Harry on a flying motorbike to Dumbledore, Headmaster at Hogwarts. Dumbledore then places Ha

Feeling Poem

Stress Smells like my burnt dinner still baking in the oven while I am distracted. Tastes like expired milk I accidently added into a promised smoothie for my friend who will be over any minute. Sounds like my sister raging after loosing her game when we are home alone. Feels like me trying to remember all the answers and formulas 10 minutes before a test. Feels like all the nerves and jitters I have the minute before getting a shot. Feels like me having so many important things to remember along with all the circulating ideas going through my mind. My First Day of 6th Grade

Recently, my school year has started, which also means that summer is over. I'm not sure how to feel since I have always loved school but at the same time, my 2021 summer has been so fun it's hard to think that it's already over. Besides all the negative things, I had a good first day of school and am looking forward to the new school year. For my 6th grade school year, I am still going to the same elementary school (Stephen Foster Elementary) as before. It will be my last year there since next year I will be in middle school.  My homeroom teacher this year is Mrs. Greenwood who is really nice if you get on her good side. My friends and I all are which is a good thing since we have all seen her yell at other students. My 2 other teachers are Mrs. Bomgaars (Who was my 5th grade teacher) and Mrs. Frizzelle. All of my teachers this year are some of the most experienced teachers at my school. They all have different but high expectations which can get annoying since they always

My 11th birthday

This year, since Covid is getting a little better, I had an amazing birthday party for my 11th birthday. I invited many of my friends and we had an amazing time playing around the house and celebrating my birthday.  This year, my party theme was tropical since I love the way tropical things like pineapples and palm trees look when they are animated and have adorable faces on them. I also had a big waterslide, made slime with some of my friends, wandered around the house randomly, and played some Roblox.  The waterslide was so much fun and I probably went down the slide over 30 times. We tried different things things going down backwards and twisting while sliding. Overall the slide was so much fun and watching everyone have fun made me happy.  To me, one of the best things about parties is all the FOOOOD. I always get hungry and knowing I can eat as much food as I want makes me not want to eat before the party. For this party, we had pizza, fruit, Vietnamese food, and many different s

Inference on What It Was Like to Be A Pony Express Rider

I can infer that being a Pony Express Rider was difficult and dangerous. According to the text, the riders would have really long rides to get from station to station. This means that a delivery can take days to make which also means that you have to face many dangers and troubles along the way. The passage also states that you could be traveling hundreds of miles just to deliver a few pieces of mail which is not really worth the risk along the way. The text also says that riders can experience bad weather and many problems can occur. Riders can experience deep snow, extreme temperatures and unexpected changes in weather. Lastly, the article states that riders can come in contact with Bandits and Native American tribes. This means that riders can get distracted by them and possibly even killed. Being a Pony Express Rider means having to face many dangers and problems that can occur. Being a rider for the Pony Express is not easy and has many challenges and obstacles to face.
