Reflecting 2020

Finally that 2020 is over and we are starting a new year, we can hope that things will go back normal soon. I decided to review 2020 and see how bad it really was. I realized that 2020 was not as bad as when we were going through it.

Of course the biggest change in 2020 was covid-19 but in the USA quarantine started in March so we have 3 months of the “regular days”.

In January, I learned about the Coronavirus coming from China and didn’t really care about it. I still played with my friends and have my regular class schedule but that all changed in mid march. My school got closed for 2 weeks and we had no school for that time. I chatted with my friends and still have my out of school classes. When March was over we had started quarantine and online school. My classes started becoming online and it was DEPRESSING. I was usually VERY VERY bored and constantly walking around the house like a dead zombie.

Everything was so different and I always went to sleep thinking “Am I dreaming? Is this fake? WHY IS THIS HAPPENING IF IT IS?”. In late July my birthday was coming up and I was thinking “UGH why this year is already bad how worse can it get?” I knew we would not be able to have a party or go to a fun place and I was so sad because this was my 10th birthday and it was pretty big to me. My birthday ended up not too bad but I knew it could be better.

The Coronavirus was starting to get worse by then and more restrictions were being made (As if there weren’t enough before). My parents FINALLY realized how bored we were and went hiking once in a while which was fun. I have some fun memories as well such as chatting with my friends and getting to spend some time with my family.

By September I started school again (Online ugh of course) and I wasn’t as bored finally but still I didn’t like distance learning at all and would almost rather DIE then be in quarantine.

Nothing really special happened until December which was Christmas (finally). We got and gave many presents to our friends and I felt like what we usually always do. I had a very fun Christmas and the year was FINALLY almost over.

In my opinion, 2020 was TERRIBLE when we were going through it (and 2021 so far is also TERRIBLE) I had many memories and wasn’t so bad after it was over. So I can finally say quarantine is not almost over (yea soooo happy) :D.
