My 2020 Thanksgiving and trip

This year’s thanksgiving has been very different from other years because of the terrible Coronavirus. We usually get to go to our family-friends house and have a nice dinner together but obviously that did not happen this year. I still had a good time this thanksgiving and even went on a small trip since it was my school break.

The trip

The trip we went on was to Carlsbad, CA with my mom and my sister. The only thing that sucked was that we had to wear mask wherever we went. The hotel room was very nice with 3 beds, a bathroom, 3 TV’s and a balcony.

On the day we got there we did not do anything besides explore the hotel. We saw a nice fire pit, a family pool with a mini water park, an adult pool or quiet pool as they call it, a restaurant, a very nice lobby, and a mini playground. The hotel was right above the flower field but we did not get to see any.

The 2nd and 4th day we went to San Diego Zoo. We went to both the regular Zoo and the Safari Park. We got to see many animals and walked a lot. The food and items there were very pricy, for example 8 dollars for small popcorn and 20 dollars for 1 stuffed animal. But we did get to all the cute animals from different places around the world.

On the 3rd day we mostly stayed at the hotel. We did go to the Carlsbad outlets though and got some new shoes. After we were done we got some pizza and went back to our hotel to eat. When we were done eating we took a break and I went to go swim. On the way to the pool we picked up some unicorn crafts for us to do after we swam.

Our trip lasted 4 nights long and we got to do many fun activities. Even though we had to wear mask and stay 6 feet apart we still had a very fun vacation.

Thanksgiving

This year’s Thanksgiving was different than usual. My mom cooked a turkey for us and we wanted to order stone fire grill as well. Unfortunately that was closed and decided El Polo Loco was also ok. But that was also closed :/. So we just bought some frozen Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes and warmed them up a little before dinner.

During dinner we talked about what we are thankful for and ate a lot of yummy food. I also helped my mom set the table (your welcome mom).

In my opinion this year’s Thanksgiving week and day was still very fun and enjoyable even though we could not do what we usually do. I hope next year will be normal so that we could have a better time and get together with our friends.
