This year’s thanksgiving has been very different from other years because of the terrible Coronavirus. We usually get to go to our family-friends house and have a nice dinner together but obviously that did not happen this year. I still had a good time this thanksgiving and even went on a small trip since it was my school break. The trip The trip we went on was to Carlsbad, CA with my mom and my sister. The only thing that sucked was that we had to wear mask wherever we went. The hotel room was very nice with 3 beds, a bathroom, 3 TV’s and a balcony. On the day we got there we did not do anything besides explore the hotel. We saw a nice fire pit, a family pool with a mini water park, an adult pool or quiet pool as they call it, a restaurant, a very nice lobby, and a mini playground. For school I have been assigned an explorer project to do. I chose the explorer “Prince Henry The Navigator” to do my research and project on. We had to write in 1 st person mode so I had to pretend I was Prince Henry. My name is Prince Henry the Navigator and I was a Portuguese explorer that came from Porto, Portugal. I was the third son of King John 1 and I was born on March 4th, 1394 and died on November 13th, 1460. My full name is Henry Prince of Portugal, Duke of Viesu Lord of Covilha. My nickname is Henry the Navigator or Prince Henry the Navigator. I went on 3 voyages but sponsored 40 voyages and during those trips I got to explore many different places. I am most famous for starting a navigation school in Portugal to help maybe future explorers learn all the tools and things needed to go on an exploration. I have made many friends in the past years in school and in my out of school classes. One of my best friends is Ivy which I met at school. We have a cool story on how we met because before we were friends we were enemies. How I met her Ivy joined my school in first grade and at that time we avoided each other for a while. One of my other friends went to the same after school daycare as Ivy and they became friends. She then introduced Ivy to me and we started playing with each other as a group. She then asked me and Ivy over for a play date and our moms met. They got each other’s phone number and we started having play dates together. We have been friends ever since and she is now my closest friend because even during quarantine she gets to come and play for a little almost every day.
