My second Trimester in school (part 2) Mr. Mangold’s class

My second Trimester in school has been very enjoyable time learning and exploring cool things. I was very excited to learn new things in each subject. Do you want to know what I did in Mr. Mangold’s class?

Mr. Mangold teaches us math, science, and health. He teaches us 2nd period and we have a longer period in his class so we do lots of math and sometimes science. He also taught us a little bit of health.

In math we are learning fractions. We also started book 2 for our math books. We are learning equivalent fractions using a tape diagram. We do multiplication as an easier way to find equivalent fractions. We are learned that when we add, subtract, multiply, and divided fractions we only do it the numerators or the top numbers.

We also do Zearn.org it is a math website and it teaches us about something and then there is a tower of power where we have to answer questions that relate to what they taught us. We work on our own pace so if someone is ahead of the class they can learn things ahead of the class.

We do not really take math tests that often but when we do they are pretty easy. The tests are based off of math lessons that we already learned about.

We sometimes do worksheets that have exercises on different areas of math that we need improvement on. We sometimes do multiplication exercises because some students cannot remember their times table facts for other things like multiplying fractions.

In science we are learning about Microorganisms, bacteria, Microscopic animals, food chains, and food webs. We recently took a science test and it was pretty easy. We had to match a word with its definition and had to answer questions about food chains and food webs.

Almost every 2 weeks we get a science packet and in the packet we have to answer different questions that we have on our test but we don’t get to use them during our test. It is pretty long and there are some reading parts and some questions.

We have not done much health in class but we have done it a few times. We learned about what sicknesses spread and which ones don’t. Some sicknesses that do spread are flu’s, colds, and pink eye. We learned that these are called communicable diseases. Some sicknesses that don’t spread are asthma, diabetes, and most heart diseases. These are called non-communicable diseases.

In my opinion my second Trimester in Mr. Mangold’s class has been very enjoyable and I had a good time learning about these things. It has been fun learning about all these subjects because they will help me through the rest of my life.
