The Amazing Kobe Bryant


On 1-26-2020 sadly Kobe Bryant and his daughter died because of an airplane crash. This sad event was very unexpected and terrible.

Who was Kobe Bryant?
According to an article, Kobe’s real name is actually Kobe Bean Bryant. Kobe Bryant was an amazing American basketball player. He played basketball for 20 years for the LA Lakers.
 In 2008 he was the NBA’s most valuable player.

 Kobe started playing in high school and ended his career in 2016 but still very famous (he is the most famous and best basketball player I know).

His number was 8 and 24. He also taught his daughter’s basketball team.

What awards did he win?
Kobe also wrote a short poem and it turned into a short film and it won the Oscar award. The title of the film is Dear Basketball.

An article said that he won a slam dunk contest in 1997 and was named all-star in his 2nd season.
He got 5 NBA champion awards, 2 NBA final awards, 18 NBA all star awards, and many many more.

He also won 2 Olympic gold medals in 2008 and 2012.

Family
Kobe was the son of Joe Bryant, a former NBA player. His mother is Pam Bryant and his daughter is Gianna Bryant.  His wife is Vanessa Laine Bryant and many others.

Helicopter crash
The helicopter crash was a very very sad event.

The helicopter took off normal but then it started to circle the LA zoo because of the bad weather. Then it kept flying but too low. Then in Calabasas it crashed into a hill/mountain. Kobe, his daughter and 7 others sadly died.

In my opinion this is a very sad thing that will be unforgotten. I wish it never happened because Kobe was an amazing person.

    Thank you for writing this beautiful tribute to Kobe Bryant. He was one of my favorite basketball players and such a great humanitarian. This is a great way to remember the wonderful things he did not only here but around the world.

Chinese New Year

I am going to write about Chinese New Year because my parents come from China and Chinese new year is February 16th. Here are some facts I learned about Chinese New Year. Chinese New Year is also called Lunar New Year. Chinese New Year was created to welcome spring but Chinese New Year does not happen on the same day every year because not all the time the groundhog sees his shadow. There are 12 symbols for the Chinese zodiac. The 12 symbols are Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, rooster, Dog and Pig. The year of 2018 is the year of the Dog. I was born in 2010 and I am a Tiger and my sister was born in 2014 and she is a Horse. Chinese New Year is very important because we welcome a new symbol.
