First half of my 4th grade school year
My school just got on winter break and it has been very fun
so far. In school we have done some very fun activities.
I am in Mrs. Silva and Mr. Mangold’s 4th grade
class. Mrs. Silva is my homeroom and Mr. Mangold is my 2nd period
teacher. Mrs. Silva teaches social studies and writing while Mr. Mangold
teaches math and science.
We have done some fun activities during the first half of
the school year. We have done Red Ribbon week, which is a week that we learned
the harm of drugs and why not to take them. During that week, we could wear
PJ’s, crazy hair, wore red, and more. The classes could also participate in a
poster contest where each class makes a poster about saying no to drugs and
something that relates to the theme. Our class also had a little celebration
before winter break. The celebration was on Wednesday, 12/18/19. We had donuts
and made Christmas cards, scratch art ornaments, and ornaments with a picture
of our faces on them. Some of our room moms came to celebrate and helped us
with the crafts.
During the first half of the school year, one of most common
practices we did in Mrs. Silva’s class was writing. Mrs. Silva gave us some
prompts, and we wrote about the prompts. Some prompts were about our favorite
TV shows or what superpower we would like to have. Every week, we also got a
spelling and grammar packet. All the new words and grammars we learned were in
the packets. We also went to the school library. We got to meet the masters and
we learned about an artist and did a project about it. We learned about Vincent
Van Goah and made a starry night picture.
In Mrs. Mangold’s class, we learned math and science. We are
currently working on division with remainders and multi-digit multiplications.
In science, we are learning about microorganisms, plankton, food chains and
food webs.
In my opinion, school is super fun and helps us a lot when
we grow up. I wish that I will learn as much as I can this school year.
