The Amazing Octopuses
Hi! Do you
want to learn about more interesting animal facts? Today we are going to learn
about Octopuses.
I am writing
about octopuses because I want to blog about an animal and also because I read
a small book about them. According to an article the Giant Pacific octopus is a
reddish-brown color. A mature female can lay about 180,000 eggs at a time. 5
different types of octopuses are reef octopuses; blue ringed octopuses, Giant
pacific octopuses, common Atlantic octopuses, Finn deep sea octopuses, and many
more.
One
interesting thing is they have no bones. According to an article, octopus blood
is blue. They eat fish, crabs, plankton and other foods. The octopuses live in
oceans. Most octopuses live up to 3 to 5 years old. The top speed octopus can
move is 25 MPH. According to an article, the first thing an octopus needs to
swim is it draws water into its body. Next it pushes a jet of water out of a
tube called a funnel, propelling itself forward. The harder an octopus pushes
the water out, the faster it moves. Gropers, moray eels, sharks, and snappers
eat octopuses.
In my
opinion, octopuses are very fun to learn about, even if you think they are
gross. Also I think they are cool animals because they can swim with no bones.
I wish I can
talk to an octopus and ask them about their lives.
I'm so glad you researched and blogged about the interesting octopus! Did you know an octopus has 3 hearts? Thank you for sharing amazing facts about this beautiful ocean creature!
