George Washington


George Washington was the very first and greatest president. Here are some interesting facts about him.

According to an article George Washington was born in 1732 in Virginia. When he was young he was a very good student and was epically good at math and spelling. According to another article he had only 1 tooth left when he became president. He died on December 14 1799 because he caught a bad cold and was soon very sick with a throat infection. According to scholastic news Washington liked to go dances with his wife Martha and he once danced for 3 hours straight!

Did you know that Washington did not even want to be president? According to an article he was successful because he was a man of principle honor, he led a very strong army, and he was chosen as first president. Scholastic News also said he led a ring of spies and spied on British soldiers in restaurants sometimes. By spying on them helped gather facts and helped America won the war!
In my opinion, George Washington was a great president because he was a brave and good person.
I wish I could be as brave as him because I am not brave to stand up to really mean people, but Washington Stood up to mean people.

I did a interesting research about Michelle Kwan. Michelle Kwan was born 1980 in Torrance, California. Her ethic is Chinese and her parents were from Hong Kong. Michelle Kwan started skating at the age of 5 and went to Ice Castle Training Center in Lake Arrowhead in California. She was 18 years old when she went to the Olympics games. Michelle Kwan liked to skate a lot. I think Michelle Kwan has good performance because she is calm and relaxed. I think Kwan is a good ice skater because she made it all the way to the Olympics games. I think i am a good ice skater because i am in Basic 6. I would like to learn how to ice skate like Kwan. Chinese New Year

I am going to write about Chinese New Year because my parents come from China and Chinese new year is February 16th. Here are some facts I learned about Chinese New Year. Chinese New Year is also called Lunar New Year. Chinese New Year was created to welcome spring but Chinese New Year does not happen on the same day every year because not all the time the groundhog sees his shadow. There are 12 symbols for the Chinese zodiac. The 12 symbols are Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, rooster, Dog and Pig. The year of 2018 is the year of the Dog. I was born in 2010 and I am a Tiger and my sister was born in 2014 and she is a Horse. Chinese New Year is very important because we welcome a new symbol. A Chinese New Year tradition is putting out fireworks and putting up lanterns. Chinese New Year lasts for about 15 days. This is what me and my family do on Chinese New Year this year.
