Martin Luther King Jr.

I am going to write about Martin Luther King Jr. so we can learn some facts about him. Dr. King had a lot of speeches his famous one is the I have a dream speech, it goes like this " I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." Dr. King led a lot of marches. He believed all people should have the same freedoms. All his speeches were very powerful. Back then blacks had to give up there spot on the bus and give it to a white person. Dr. King had a father, grandfather and his wife named Coretta Scott and four children in his family. Dr. King became a minister like his father and grandfather. People celebrate him on January 15th to. To celebrate him, people draw pictures and write about our dreams. We celebrate him on the 15th because that is his birthday. In my opinion Dr. King was a good leader because he was a strong person that made African

St. Patrick's Day

I am going to write about St. Patrick's Day because I want you to know more about St. Patrick's Day. The St. Patrick's Day is on March 17. This is the history of St. Patrick's day. When Patrick was age 16 he was kidnapped by the Irish Raiders and taken as a slave to an island. He spent  six years working on the island and during that time he found God. Patrick died on March 17 and was buried at Downpatrick. We celebrate St. Patrick's day on March 17. To celebrate people have parties and parades. Some people say if you don't wear green you will get pinched by the leprechaun but I  don't believe there is a real leprechaun. People started celebrating St. Patrick's day on 1762. Blue was first color for St. Patrick's day but it changed in the 17th century. Green is one of the colors on the Ireland flag. We also wear green because it is the landscape color and the spring color. In my opinion I like St. Patrick's Day because you get to wear green

Trip to Los Angeles Zoo

I went to the Los Angeles Zoo on a field trip. In my opinion the zoo is the best zoo I ever visited and let me tell you my trip. I saw Koalas, Giraffes, Lions, Monkeys, Elephants, Zebra, Komodo dragon and Alligators. Here are some facts about some animals. Komodo dragons are found in Indonesia on the islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, Gili Motang and Padar. Giraffes live in Africa.  Giraffes can stand up to 20 feet tall.  There are more than 260 different species of monkeys. Some monkeys are apes, stem nose and spider monkey.  I also saw a kangaroo, snakes, turtles, frogs and tiger. We ate lunch by the giraffes. My trip was really fun because we got to see cool animals. My partner was Sofia. Next time we go on a field trip I want my partner to be Ella. As you can see why I think the LA zoo is the best zoo !

Human Senses and Body

I did a research about the human body. I am going to write about the human senses. I am writing this so we can learn more knowledge and share the facts with you. The five senses are Taste, Sight, Touch, Smell and Hearing. The taste comes from our taste buds The taste buds are on our tongue. The buds are also called Papilloedema (phu-pil-lee). The sight helps us touches on what we are doing. The cones help us see color and rods help us see better at night. There are 4 different kind of touch: cold, heat, on tact and pain. If you are blind you use your sense to read braille which is a kind of writing that uses a series of bumps to represent the alphabet. Our nose is the organ that we use to smell. Smells are made of fumes of various substances. Our ears are in two separate parts, the outer ear and the inner ear. Some people who are unable to hear rely on sign language for communication. All the information from senses is sent to our brain. Our body is made of tons of little
