Causes Of Childhood Obesity

Childhood obesity these days is a huge problem. Childhood obesity is when children are overweight but not just by a little, by a lot. It can cause life-threatening diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Sadly, childhood obesity is pretty common these days so doing anything to stop it is a plus. One cause to childhood obesity is junk food. Junk food is really addicting, meaning that the more you eat it, the more you want to eat it. Junk food can cause excessive and fast weight gain which can turn into fat eventually. One way to fix eating too much junk food is to make a chart to keep track of how much you it. You can also try and have a balanced diet to balance all the food you eat out. Another cause to childhood obesity is when kids are on electronics for too long. Just like junk food, the more you are on them, the more you want to be on them. It obviously is also bad for your eyes which can lead to eyesight problems. When you are on electronics for too long, fat can buil

Water Pollution And How To Solve It

“Water is the driving force of all nature,” wrote Leonardo Da Vinci. Water pollution is getting worse and worse with every minute that goes by. We don’t have unlimited water, and since we use it so much… we need to protect it before it’s all gone. However, there are many ways to help protect the environment and live a “green life,” including keeping water supplies clean and saving water. There are many ways water can be polluted by us humans, but there are some things that affect the environment more than others. For example, medicine. Medicine can be flushed down the drain and can get into our oceans, lakes, rivers, etc. It then could harm the water and make it unsafe for all the marine life down there (Source 1). In addition, batteries are very harmful to the environment. “The chemicals in the batteries can get into our watershed”, harming the water and wildlife (Source 1). Oil spills can also harm the water. The oil “can pollute our water sources”, making the water dirty and unsaf

Compare And Contrast (Tornadoes And Hurricanes)

Tornadoes and Hurricanes are two of the worlds more dangerous natural disasters, killing hundreds of people each year. These two disasters have a lot in differences but also a lot of common. For example, both tornadoes and hurricanes have very fast winds. The fast winds are usually a part of what causes both of these dangerous events. Another similarity they have is that they both cause a lot of destruction/damage. They can both destroy buildings, cars, etc. Both these phenomenon also have a lot of differences however. A hurricane is caused when a cluster of thunderstorms collide into each other. It sucks up the moist air around it and lifts it into the air, whereas tornadoes are formed because of warm air colliding with cold air, producing a supercell, or a really strong and dangerous thunderstorm. Hurricanes are “measured” using the Saffir-Simpson scale, rating how strong the wind speeds are, while tornadoes are “measured” using the Enhanced Fujita scale, based of the wind speed

Similarities And Differences (Dogs And Cats)

Knowing the similarities and differences between dogs and cats is crucial when it comes to buying a furry friend. Dogs and cats are both pretty messy so keep that in mind. You have to clean up after them which includes cleaning up their poop and pee. Another thing they have in common is that they are both expensive. You have to pay for their food, toys, collars, etc. Another key similarity is that they are both good companions. They like cuddling and being played with (you should too!). But along with all those similarities, dogs and cats also have a lot of differences. Dogs, are very energetic and love to run around. They are pretty noisy but love to play. On the other hand, cats are quite shy and quiet. They are lazy and don’t run around as much as dogs. Dogs are also needy, meaning that they LOVE being cuddled with. Dogs want attention from you and often feel alone without you by it side. Cats however, are pretty fickle. They can lash out easily and like being alone. They are not

Important School Rules

All school rules are made for something...but some are more important than others. For instance, Staying home when you are sick should be a rules all school make. Not only does it help you recover quicker, but you also protect other students and staff. Staying home prevents viruses and illnesses from spreading to other people which all in all, is a win for everyone. Another necessary school rule is to not bully anyone. Just simply be kind! You don’t have to be friends with EVERYBODY but be kind to them and you will get treated the same way. All bullying does is making yourself feel better and hurting the other person. Just a couple of harsh words can affect them for months or even years. Most importantly, try your best in everything you do! Trying your best helps you engage more in the lesson, resulting in you learning the maximum amount. We obviously don’t go to school to listen to the teacher babble all day so participate in activities. Overall, just be a good student and follow AL
