Opinion of Israel - Hamas War

Currently, the worst foreign issue regarding America is the situation between Hamas and Israel. It is not the war and conflict itself, but the U.S. involvement with their situation will not benefit us, and just puts the U.S. under more possible danger and worry. Even though the war between Israel and Hamas is not a new topic, America and our government should stay quiet with the “sides” being taken, and worry about all the domestic issues in our country. This situation can easily be connected to any drama happening in the teen years of life. Just like America should mind its own business, students should focus on themselves and their friends, rather than getting involved with irrelevant people in their life. In either situation, leaving the two troubled parties be and letting them solve the problem they created is the only way to let their relationship heal, change, and innovate . With everything already happening, the U.S. involvement with the Israel and Hamas war is a huge foreign

U.S. Foreign/Domestic Issues

What is the most important policy, foreign or domestic, affecting Americans your age?   The most important domestic policy affecting American citizens around my age is the problem of guns and gun control. Not only guns, but all different types of firearms have become a large issue in our country, and th e government has not made any major changes to the law of who can possess weapons. This issue most affects teens and high schoolers, due to the large amount of school shootings and homicides that happen on school campuses. Unfortunately, many schools have faced the issue of weapon attacks during school hours (usually even by a student), and we have not seen many acts taken on by districts or the government. Though most schools are not super worried about this happening on their campus, it serves as a threat hanging above everyone. For reference, at a local high school, there was recently a homicide attack during school hours. It seemed to be well planned and thought out, and now comple

2024 Lunar New Year

It is that time again every year, a few nights ago was Lunar New Year! I spent some good, quality time with my family, and overall had a great time. Just like the start of 2024, I would like to take things as a new start, and focus on the present, rather than worry about the future or past mistakes.  This year, like usual, I celebrated the new year with my direct family, yet did wish my extended family a happy new year all the way in China. We usually do not do a huge celebration, but do recognize and do a few traditions from past ancestors.  We ate a delicious dinner on New Years eve, consisting soup, duck "tacos," sticky rice, and other goodies. During the dinner, we talked over different goals and reflected on the past year. As this is the year of the dragon, though my animal zodiac is not a dragon, I wanted to be fierce and strong this lunar new year.  Another tradition our family does is the red envelope. They are given usually to children from their parents, and contai

Science Crab, Plankton, Light Claim

In my science class, we just finished up our unit on light waves. During this, we learned about the different types of light, the wavelength, and about skin cancer around the world. As closure to our unit, my teacher made us write about whether we think a crab can or cannot see the plankton it eats. We had evidence cards to guide us and to use as resources. The crabs cannot see the plankton they eat. According to Evidence Card E, orange fish, when closer to the surface of the water, a species of fish are seen and appear a bright orange color. However, closer to the floor of the ocean, they are nowhere to be seen, the visible light color does not transmit far enough for the fish to reflect the orange. Also, based on Evidence Card D, the same is with all of the other visible light colors, none travel far enough to reach the base of the ocean. Without any light reaching that far, the plankton do not reflect any color, and cannot be seen. Based on all of this, according to Evidence Card A,
