My Intermediate MIF Testing

Earlier today, I tested my Intermediate (or Pre-Silver) moves in the field test, the 5th test out of 8. I tested at Toyota Sports Center, located in El Segundo. Like almost all of my pervious tests, this test session was pretty early in the morning, starting at 7 to be exact. I was part of the first five to test, so I had to be there pretty early.  After my practice ice before, I took a short break and tried to mentally prepare myself. Honestly, this is probably the most nervous I have been for any ice skating "performance," and I am unsure why. Also, this is the first test that I am testing with a different coach, so I also had to learn her procedure's and the way she prepares her students for testing.  Then, I had to get ready for my 5 minute test warmup, where I would run short sections of my different moves, and just get another sense of the ice. As it was such a short amount of time, I couldn't really focus on one particular thing for a while, as I just had to m

History - What is the Purpose of Studying History?

My first assignment in my 8th grade history class has come! Though I always despise history and its boring lectures and writing, this assignment was actually somewhat enjoyable for me to work on. My teacher gave my class a few examples of different types of history, and gave us three questions to pick and write about. I chose the question, "What is the purpose of studying history?"  The purpose of studying history ranges from learning about human ancestry and generations, to learning how to solve problems to minimize war, there are so many reasons why humans study history. One reason to study history is to have a greater understanding of one’s personal history, ancestors, and more information about the current generation they are living in. For example, I have learned about my background & ethnicity, which overall has helped me discover and realize more about myself and how to live my daily life. I have also learned that I am the third generation of my ancestry to be bor

My Life "Update"

Earlier today, I competed in my 3rd ice skating competition, this being the first of the 22-23 season.  Though I had not been out performing on the ice in a few months, this performance I feel was the best out of all the others I had, and for many reasons.  This competition was the biggest out of the 3 I competed in, and also had the most skaters within my category. My competition was at Anaheim Ice Rink, and the event is called Spring Spectacular. From my last program/routine from October, I had a new, freshly choreographed number. I skated to the song Minor Swing, from Chocolat, and loved the piece, as it contains unique sounds/instruments.  My dress this time around was borrowed from another skater, and was a bright red with rhinestones all around. My costume also included red silk gloves and a flowery, red hairpiece. I personally loved my dress & accessories, and feel like it definitely matches the song.  As for my performance, I preformed pretty well. I landed all my jumps (w
